About me

Hello…

Hello! I’m Lisa Pyper. I enjoy going for walks, cuddling my dog, reading, cooking and writing poetry.
I’ve been counselling young people and adults for more than fourteen years.

My career journey so far…

I trained at the Iron Mill Institute.
After qualifying, I supported young people and adults across diverse settings, including mental health, residential, secondary school, and community settings.
For the past six years, I’ve run Dawn Therapy, focusing specifically on counselling ADHD women (diagnosed and undiagnosed) of all ages. Kindness, openness and honesty are at the forefront of how I work.

My approach to counselling…

As an Integrative Counsellor I predominantly combine the following therapies depending on your specific needs and personality:
1. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): learning how your beliefs affect your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
2. Humanistic Therapy: working in a way that puts you in the driving seat, moving towards clarifying your needs now and in the future.
3. Gestalt Therapy: sensing your mind, body and soul connection, seeing how you show up in your day to day life and relate to the people around you.

My credentials…

As a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), I am bound by and adhere to the Ethical Framework for Counselling Professions.
